XtraMount® mirror adhesive tape

The use of mirror adhesive tape is particularly popular for hanging large mirrors. Play it safe with Xtramount® from Bohle.

The benefits of mirror adhesive tape

If you use mirror tape to mount the mirror, all you need is an alcohol-based cleaner, mirror tape suitable for the size and weight of the mirror and a pair of scissors to cut the tape from the roll.
  • Quick and permanent installation of mirrors
  • Good initial adhesion and high final strength
  • Easy installation without tools
  • Resistant to ageing, weathering and plasticisers
  • Adhesive tape width from 15-70 mm for every application
  • Suitable for bathrooms
  • Can be used outdoors if conditions are tested separately

The correct use of mirror adhesive tape

To optimise the adhesive effect of mirror adhesive tape and to achieve an evenly distributed load-bearing capacity, four adhesive patterns are recommended. In all variants, the mirror adhesive tape is applied vertically to the back of the mirror. Selecting the right adhesive tape to match the mirror surface and thickness is crucial for correct application. Finally, depending on the weight of the mirror, the right length of adhesive tape is important.

How does mirror adhesive tape work?

Mirror adhesive tape is usually a PE foam tape that is coated on both sides with pure acrylate adhesive. The adhesive effect is determined by the physical processes of adhesion and cohesion, in which the molecules of identical or dissimilar materials have an adhesive property/adhesion. After removing the protective film, the tape adheres directly to the mirror or to the desired location in the room. The maximum load-bearing capacity is achieved by applying the correct contact pressure.

Types of XtraMount mirror adhesive tape

Xtramount® double-sided adhesive mirror tapes vary in width, material thickness and length. All factors have an influence on the load-bearing capacity.
