Bohle once again supports SOS Children´s Village in South Africa

Bohle AG continues its partnership with the SOS Children´s Village in 2020 to help the children and adolescents in Ennerdale look towards a brighter future.

The Corona pandemic shakes the world and hits particularly hard those countries and people who are already affected by poverty and a lack of resources. As the largest city in South Africa, Johannesburg has some of the biggest Townships of the whole country. Many children and adolescents living here struggle to find a way out of their already precarious situation as they need support to grow into self-confident adults. SOS Children´s Village in Ennerdale assumes this task and supports its protégés, among others, with regular basic meals, help with homework, and shelter with one of the families, if necessary.

As done since 2019, Bohle AG will once again support the organisation with a financial donation. This is more important than ever: due to the Corona pandemic, the SOS Children´s Village has lost essential donor partners. At the same time, unplanned expenditures for medication, disinfectant, face masks, and temperature measurement devices, as well as the cost for technical equipment required for working from home or taking part in online classes is on the rise. After a personal visit at the beginning of 2020, Bohle AG agreed on the overall conditions for a future partnership. It is our aim to offer adolescents a first insight into professional life by means of internships and training jobs to improve their opportunities in the local job market. The implementation of this objective has so far proven difficult. Nevertheless, Bohle sticks to its commitment and will continue its efforts as soon as the health situation improves again.

In the beginning of December, we received the touching words of Mr. Patrick Kulati in his role as National Director of the SOS Children´s Village who, together with his whole team, thanked us for this partnership. We would also like to say “Enkosi” (“Thank you” in English) for their perseverance in this difficult situation and look forward with great hope to the coming 2021 year.
