VetroMount® test certificates

For a glass railing system to be able to call itself ‘tested’, it must fulfil numerous requirements, which can be found in ‘DIN 18008-4 Glass in building - Design and construction rules’, among others. Part four of the standard deals in particular with additional requirements for fall-protection glazing. They relate, for example, to permissible types of glass, cut-outs, drill holes or types of mounting.

The certification process is defined at national level. The general building authority test certificate (AbP) applies in Germany, the Avis Technique in France and BS 6180 in the UK, to name just three selected tests. VetroMount® has therefore been put through its paces under the official supervision of an independent test centre.  

The general building authority test certificate regulates in particular the specifications for joints against the glass panes of an all-glass railing. In addition, a static calculation is required, which analyses the glass railing in terms of design, construction and other aspects,
